Humans will eventually coexist with machines. I am Lucas Brown, an oil painter exploring the post-human era. With the understanding of mechanical structures from a craftsman designer, I seamlessly connect gears, circuits, hydraulic tubes with human skin. Through the fusion of linen fabric, oil-based pigments, metal powders and digital collage, I create portrait works that combine biological form, mechanical logic and futuristic predictability. In my paintings, blood vessels and wires are indistinguishable; the body is merely another type of organic material that requires precise assembly.
