How important is it to have a cover letter? The answer is VERY!
While your resume tells prospective employers what you've done for other companies and what you achieved during your tenure with those other companies, your cover letter tells the hiring manager what you
can do for them. It should be a formal letter specifically addressed to the
hiring manager at the company with whom you’re applying.
I will write a "knock their socks off" cover letter. It will be specific to the job for which you're applying and will contain keywords from the posted/advertised job description. There is a very specific format that hiring managers want to see on a cover letter and I have that format down to an art.
Don't be the only one to show up without a cover letter, you won't make it through to the interview.
Please note: I don't usually write on the weekend. If the time frame for your gig ends on a weekend, please understand you may not receive it until Monday. Thank you for understanding and helping me keep some of my days free.
