Project Description – Video Editing and Visual Curtain Placement This project consisted of editing aerial footage captured by a drone, where I visually added curtains to the windows of more than 30 different houses throughout the video. The main goal was to create a realistic visual representation of how the client’s curtain product would look if installed in real homes. This type of visualization helps potential customers better imagine the product in a real environment. The first step of the project was reviewing and analyzing all the raw drone footage. Since the camera was constantly moving and filming multiple houses from different angles, it was important to carefully identify each window that would receive the curtain animation. After organizing the scenes, I began the editing process using DaVinci Resolve, which was the main software used for the entire project. Most of the work was done inside the Fusion tab of DaVinci Resolve, which allows more advanced visual composition. In this stage, I integrated the curtain visuals into the windows so they would look naturally placed within each house. Because the footage was recorded with a drone in motion, I needed to ensure that the curtains followed the movement and perspective of the camera. To achieve this, I used a surface tracking technique (Planar Tracker), which allows an element to stay attached to a specific area of the image while the camera moves. This process made it possible for the curtains to remain correctly aligned with the windows even when the drone changed position, angle, or distance. After tracking each window, I carefully positioned and adjusted the curtains so they matched the size, angle, and perspective of every house. Since the video included more than 30 houses, this process had to be repeated multiple times, making sure every curtain looked properly placed and visually consistent with the environment.
