transfer, move, migrate or copy your WordPress blog

About This Gig

Need to MOVE or COPY your Wordpress to a new domain?

I will transfer, duplicate, copy, move or migrate WordPress blogs or sites into another Wordpress installation. I need admin access to both the source & destination

Want to move your site  "oldsite.com" to your new domain at "newsite.com", this gig is for you!

Everything will be copied!! Including the posts, tags, pages, images, plugins, themes, any theme/module settings you have etc.

The new site will be an EXACT duplicate of the old site contents including all serial numbers and users/passwords.

Some themes and plugins are licensed for one site at a time.  I will still copy those themes and plugins, but you may need to register those modules on the new domain before they work again.

If your new hosting/domain is using a newer version of wordpress, or a different php level, you may experience issues if your theme or plugins are out of date or don't support the new version.  All data is copied as-is and I am not responsible for old modules not working on a newer wordpress version.  Update everything first to ensure a smooth migration!

If you site is hosted on wordpress.com (free hosting) or a multi-site installation, ASK ME FIRST!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My site is not wordpress, can you copy it into wordpress?
No, this gig is for Wordpress to Wordpress only!
  • I want to use the same domain name, but change hosts, is that possible?
Yes, that is possible! But you will have some downtime during the process. I need to backup your site first. Then you change the DNS to the new hosting. Then install WP on the new hosting. Finally I then restore your site on the new hosting account. It takes longer due to the DNS change!
  • What kind of access do you need to perform the site move / copy?
I will need ADMIN access to your wordpress on the SOURCE and the DESTINATION website. If your site is really large, then I may need FTP or cPanel access to move the larger files. If you have a large site then contact before ordering for an evaluation!
