I will gratefully accept a cup of coffee in exchange for work well done, but I will give it to a homeless person. I try to go over and above to make my customers happy.
If I made you happy with my work, and you feel like rewarding me, I will accept a tip. All tips will be used to help a homeless individual with items such as a cup of coffee, lunch from the food truck, a bag of fresh fruit, even toiletries such as a bag containing shampoo, soap and toilet paper, clean socks and laundry soap.
Every gig accepted will be rewarded with a gracious thank you. I promise to pass your kindness along. There are men and women who are living in Newport Beach at a bus depot who can use kindness. I speak with them daily, and I share what I can afford.
I am not exaggerating when I say that I have walked the 6 miles from the bus depot to my house because I used my cash to buy someone lunch, or even a bottle of water on a hot day. I carry hand warmers in my work bag and those are given out on cold days to help them stay warm.
These men and women are proud people, they are no different from the rest of us. They have hopes and dreams. They are humans who need a hand up.
