About This Gig

I specialize in helping people whose first language isn't English feel comfortable that they're sending correct and native-like writing to their professors, their clients, their friends. I can work with your emails, memos, essays, and lots more! I've done tons of these here in Taiwan for my own university students, for MDs, for military officers, and many more folks. I speak more than one language, and that makes me sensitive to errors that may have come from your native language. Professor Daniel can fix you right up!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do you translate to English as well?
Yes, I'm a well-trained and experienced retired Court & Medical Interpreter who interpreted in Texas court systems for many years. I studied at the Texas branch of Mexico's UNAM and also at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
  • Should I write in my native language and then translate it into English before I send my writing to you?
NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! This, in my experience, is the most difficult type of writing to edit, because you will end up sending me what reads like your language, which I might not speak, but with English words. In professional translation, we translate from our weaker language into our stronger one.
  • But what if my English isn't very good?
That's what I'm here for. Write it in English, even if you don't think it's very good, and let me fix the errors--rather than make me guess at "what is this writer trying to say?"
