About This Gig

Hi!  My name is Jim Cormier, and I am a Massachusetts attorney with ten years of experience in the practice of law. There are a lot of online resources to help you solve your legal problems, but the truth is, sometimes you just need to talk to a lawyer.  That's where I come in.

I'll speak to you over the phone (or via Skype), answer your legal questions, present your options, and guide you in the direction of the best solution to your particular legal problem. Everything you tell me over the phone will be kept strictly confidential and protected by the attorney-client privilege.

I offer 30-minute and 60-minute consultations.  Please note that if you would like me to review documentation of any kind (up to 20 pages), an extra fee of $20 applies. If you pay for document review (either as part of the premium package or as an extra), I will familiarize myself with your paperwork prior to our call so I can discuss it with you in detail.

Please also note that these consultations are only available in 30-minute and 60-minute fixed-fee blocks: your fee will not be prorated if you end the call before your 30 or 60 minutes have elapsed.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are you really a lawyer?
Yes, I am an attorney in Massachusetts. I have ten years of experience in practice areas including litigation, criminal defense, contracts, business and commercial law, family law, estate planning, and intellectual property.
  • Will our conversation be confidential?
Yes, phone & Skype conversations will be entirely confidential. Please keep in mind, however, that messages sent through Fiverr are not private (Fiverr employees can access them), nor can I vouch for the security of the Fiverr website. Please keep this in mind when communicating by Fiverr message.
  • Does buying your gig mean you're my lawyer?
No, I cannot officially represent you through Fiverr. Although I am bound to a duty of confidentiality for the purposes of consultations, buying my gig on Fiverr does not create an attorney-client relationship.
  • Can you represent me in court?
No, I cannot represent you in court through Fiverr, for a variety of reasons. I can only offer unbundled legal services online (limited legal services that do not involve a traditional attorney-client relationship). If you are in need of representation in Massachusetts, please message me privately.
