I offer proofreading and line editing for short- to medium-length written works. This could be a formal piece, such as a school paper or B2B memo, or something informal, such as a story or blog post.
Proofreading is catching and correcting all grammatical errors (i.e. not using the subjunctive), syntactical errors (i.e. apostrophe before the 's' in a possessive plural), typos (i.e. forgetting a close-parenthesis, and other such minor miscellanea (i.e. mixing up 'i.e.' and 'e.g.').
Line editing involves adjusting word order, word choice, phrasing, sentence structure, or sentence order in order to improve clarity, reduce awkwardness, improve flow - that sort of thing.
The comments included in the premium package explain the specific reasons behind the editorial choices made, as well, if appropriate for the piece, offer high-level flow and theming thoughts.
Edits will be made with the Track Changes function of Word / Open Office, unless you tell me you want otherwise.
