FAQ
Do I need to purchase Broadcast Rights?
Yes, If you intend to make money on my voice, run paid advertisements/media of any kind on any media platform you need to purchase Broadcast Rights. This includes ads for TV, Radio, Social Media, YouTube, Streaming service. If this is too dear for you, we can work out a yearly residual plan instead.
How do broadcast rights and commercial rights differ?
Great question. Broadcast rights are basically commercial rights that deal specifically with material intended for broadcast on television or radio. Generally speaking, you'll only ever need one or the other (commercial or broadcast), depending on where the material is going to be seen/heard.
What's involved with "video syncing"?
If you select this option, I will add my voice over to line up with your existing video. This would require you to provide a script with specific "start" and "stop" timestamps for each line or section you wish for me to sync.
Do you offer live directed sessions?
Yes, depending on my availability, I am happy to add directed sessions. If a directed session is possible my session fee is $150 per studio hour, with a 1 hour minimum fee.
What studio gear do you use to record your voice overs?
I have a completely sound treated studio booth in my basement. I record on an Apex 460B Multipattern Tube Condenser Microphone, with an upgraded tube, into an 8 channel Euromax mixing board. Direct out to a behringer 2 channel audio interface, then into a Mac with either Garage Band or Logic Pro.
Can I produce a mixdown of a music track into my broadcast/advertisement project?
Yes, I do offer to mix tracks from my own music library into broadcast projects for an additional fee, plus the added expense of the broadcast licenses for music (usually around $60) .
What's your typical turnaround time?
I can deliver a project to you in just 48 hours. But, if you need it faster, I'm sure we can arrange something. Please message me with your requirements and let's see if we can't make that happen! A small additional fee will be required.
What are the differences between free revisions and paid revisions?
Mistakes on my behalf in the read will be free. Included is one free revision for tone or pace. Any additional changes, on your behalf, to the script, tone, or direction, will require a paid revision. Also, asking for a revision to buy extra time to review is not an acceptable use of the feature.
What time zone do you live in?
I'm on the pacific coast time zone, but I am very flexible with my schedule, so please don't hold that against me.
Can I clone your voice over to train or create an AI voice?
The simple answer, is no. I believe that a real voice will always have more resonance, character and depth than a cloned voice, and I would like to keep it that way for as long as possible.
