I'm a Producer/Saxophonist/Mixer based near the LA area. I'm certified from Berklee College of Music in Advanced Music Production & Mixing, providing over 15 years of experience & over 20 years in Production. I offer Mixing, Mastering & Production services.
My rates are extremely affordable, and I provide tons of value. Unlike many other mixers out there, I give the flexibility of letting you send me many more stems. I care about your project, and I want to ensure it's done right.
I can sit here and list all my plugins, gear, DAWs or whatnot. I can sound really technical with my services, but at the end of the day - does any of that really matter? Maybe to some extent, maybe not at all. I know you care about how much mixing is going to cost you. You want the most bang for your buck. Hi! My name is Isaiah Venegas ("Shotty"). I'm from Oxnard, CA (N of LA). My Production journey started 23 years ago, Mixing & Mastering 17 years ago. I also do some touring & session work as a pro saxophonist, keyboardist & vocalist for a couple of recording artists.
I’m Berklee educated, & now a certified Advanced Music Prod. pro. I’m offering my skillset & experience at very reasonable rates. Do I get a discount if I have more songs to be mixed and mastered?
Yes! I'll work with you. I'm very reasonable & strive to provide the best quality work possible. If you have 3 or more songs to be mixed, please contact me for an estimate.
What genres have you worked on?
I've done a little bit of everything. Primarily Hip-Hop, R&B & Pop. I've done Salsa, Jazz, Smooth Jazz, Voiceover, Indie, Cinematic, Souldies (Motown), Country, Hard Rock, Reggae, Trip-Hop, EDM and band backing tracks.
What DAW do you use to mix/master?
FYI: Magix Sequoia, Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, & FL Studio. Many people believe you can hear a difference. Guess what? They all render the same exact mix. Only the mixer's ears & tools (like monitoring, DAC, analog gear, & plugins) is what manipulates sound. Not digital 1's and 0's.
What is the turnaround time for a mix?
GOLD Mix: 24 hrs. PLATINUM Mix: 24 hrs. for 1st pass, additional 24 hrs per revision (potentially up to 48 hrs.) WHITE GLOVE Mix: 7 days for 1st pass, additional 24 hrs per revision (potentially up to 9 days).
What if I have more stems than you allow?
Two options. You can either: 1. Choose to pay for extra tracks, (recommended) 2. Put like-sounding objects on same stem. Usually vocals take up the most tracks in a song. If lead vocal was tracked on 4 different channels, group them all on the same stem. For ex: don't put a vocal with a kick.
How do I deliver my audio for you to mix or master?
Easiest way is in a zipped folder thru Dropbox. I prefer stems in stereo WAV format. Session folders will be accepted if I have the same DAW, as long as plugins are removed. Stems must be at least 16 bit/44.1kHz. Higher bit rates & resolution accepted. More info in consultation.
