Chopped and Screwed is a technique of remixing hip hop music which developed in the Houston hip hop scene in the early 1990s. It is accomplished by slowing the tempo down and applying techniques such as skipping beats, record scratching, etc to produce a "chopped" version of the original.
What is the difference between "screwed" and "slowed"?
There is no real difference between the terms "screwed" and "slowed". Typically, "Screwed" specifically denotes a mix crafted by DJ Screw (Robert Earl Davis Jr) himself, but in terms of sound, they are the same.
