Why hire a human editor instead of using AI?
AI can be useful for brainstorming and catching some basic errors, but it still struggles with nuance, voice, pacing, consistency, and context. A human editor understands what you're trying to accomplish and provides feedback tailored to your unique manuscript. AI just isn’t fully there yet.
How long does this take?
Usually 24-48 hours. I don't rush because good feedback takes time to think through properly.
What if my book isn't published yet?
No problem! Actually, it's better to get this right before you publish. Just send me your draft description.
Do you rewrite this whole thing for me?
In the basic package, I give you detailed feedback to rewrite it yourself. Premium includes a rewrite option.
Will this work for my genre?
Yes - I've worked with everything from romance to sci-fi to memoirs. Each genre has different reader expectations, and I know them.
How do you deliver edits?
I typically provide edits using Microsoft Word's Track Changes feature, which allows you to review every suggestion individually. If you would like to use a different format, please contact me before ordering. I am happy to discuss alternative options when possible.
What if I hate your feedback?
Hasn't happened yet, but I always explain the "why" behind my suggestions. You'll understand exactly what needs fixing and why it matters.
Are you fluent in English?
Yes. English is my native language, and it is the only language I speak professionally. I was born and educated in the United States and hold an MFA in Creative Writing. My academic training and editing experience allow me to provide clear, accurate, and professional feedback on your work.
