PLEASE CONTACT ME BEFORE ORDERING. As your American English book editor, I will make your prose clean and clear so that you can make a strong connection with readers.
You'll receive:
One (1) file in your choice of either Google Documents change tracking or Microsoft Word's Track Changes, plus comments and recommendations, so that you can understand what I have done.
One (1) clean file with the implemented changes, in the same platform.
(If you have ordered a Copy + Developmental edit, we will discuss whether to do two rounds of this, instead of one.)
Two revisions: one for the editing process, one additional in case it is needed.
Frequent, clear communication for your peace of mind, from the time you order.
Which is right for my manuscript?
Proofreading cleans up spelling, punctuation, and grammar, and is sometimes nicknamed a "SPAG" edit.
Copy editing includes proofreading, syntax, clarity, consistency, readability, usage errors.
Developmental editing is copy editing, restructuring paragraphs, developing content, fact checking, and light rewriting.

How do I order your services?
First, please contact me to discuss your needs and expectations before ordering, so that we can determine the right services for you. Then, I will make a customized order for you with the correct services, word count, and delivery time, and Fiverr will walk you through buying when you are ready.
What is your working method like?
Once you send me your manuscript as a Microsoft Word document or as a Google Document, I will make my edits using Track Changes (in Word) or Suggestion tool (google). Writing and fact checking suggestions will be in the comments in that document.
Which file formats do you work in?
I can edit for you in either Microsoft Word or in Google Documents. Please note that I cannot work from image files or from PDF files.
What genres of fiction do you edit?
I am experienced with science fiction, fantasy, drama, romance, historical, and thriller fiction, from short stories to novels. I am able to edit some horror and some religious fiction, but please contact me to discuss your needs first.
Do you edit YA literature or children's books?
Yes, I love to work with YA and children's literature.
How long of a manuscript can you proofread?
I can work with any length as long as you have purchased the right word quantity.
Can you / will you sign a confidentiality agreement?
I'm strongly opposed to sharing any of any client's content without their consent. I can send you a signed privacy contract for both of us to sign, if that would make you more comfortable.
Do you edit nonfiction?
Yes, I do. Please contact me so that I can refer you to the correct gig for that, because my nonfiction editing and proofreading services are slightly different.
