What am I offering? Beta reading and developmental editing.
I hereby swear that I won't blow smoke up your butt when I critique your work. I attest that I am honest with my feedback, even if you, the writer, aren't ready for honesty. I also swear that I will never be rude or tear you down. My words are for the work, not you. I also attest that I have a killer sense of humor, and that shows up in my critiques.
I will read your baby, do in-line commentary where I find things that don't make sense or are inconsistent, and point out patterns. This is not the same as a comprehensive in-line edit.
In addition, I will write a reader report that covers:
- world building
- pacing
- structure
- plot holes
- characterization
- dialogue
I am also happy to answer questions you may have about your work.
You have the option of adding on personalized video commentary where I discuss your work, which is pretty neat.

FAQ
In what format should I submit my work?
Google docs or .docx. With either, I can track changes and add the in-line commentary.
How long is your reader report?
That depends on the length of your story. Most of my editorial reports end up 10 pages plus.
What if my book is more than 100K words?
Message me and I can give you a quote.
What is the personalized video critique add-on?
I'm offering a video add-on for $25. In the video, I will discuss patterns I've found in your writing, things that need work, and also point out where you were awesome. Some people are visual/auditory learners, so video complements the reader report.
What is stream-of-consciousness in-line commentary?
It is writing comments about things that pop in my head as I read your work. It helps you know if emotional or funny scenes are hitting the way you want, or if I'm getting weird connotations by certain phrases, if my attention is wandering because of pacing, and other things.
Is there anything you won't read?
I choose not to read about sexual violence or toxic behavior like possessiveness, jealousy, and abuse. Alpha bro-hole stuff is not my cup of tea. I'm not usually fan of grimdark stories with enormous body counts of named characters, either.
What do you like to read?
Most anything, especially if it is light or funny. I like cosy stories, action, adventure, mystery, thrillers, horror, fantasy, sci-fi--you name it. I love it when authors mash-up genres and come up with something fresh and different.
