Portugal
Consultant in Film directing, sound design and scriptwriting
About this Gig
I'm a sound designer, sound engineer and film director with a degree in Cinema and 21 years of professional and teaching experience in post-production sound. I teach sound for film, directing and screenwriting and worked in television and cinema.
This service provides a professional sound supervision and evaluation for your fiction film. I will watch your film in full, analyze every sound layer and deliver a clear and detailed report with corrections, creative notes and technical suggestions.
My supervision helps you understand exactly how to improve your soundtrack: dialogue, ambience balance and spatial coherence.
I do not edit or mix your sound. I guide your process so your final mix achieves a cinematic sound ready for festivals or distribution.
The Basic pack is ideal for filmmakers who want expert feedback on specific scenes or sound transitions before continuing post-production.
Standard brings a full sound supervision for your short film, including a detailed report with notes on dialogue, ambience, tone and sound continuity.
The Premium is a complete supervision for your film, with a scene-by-scene sound evaluation and expert guidance to achieve a cinematic soundtrack.

FAQ
Where can I find some information about you?
My site: https://marcolaureano.com My Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/marco-laureano-295a1337
What languages will be used?
We can communicate in portuguese (native) or english (fluent).
Do you actually fix the sound yourself?
No. I supervise and advise. I tell you what needs to be done, and you (or your sound team) can implement the changes. This is much more valuable than me doing the work - you'll learn and understand your film's sound better.
Can you work with films in any language?
Yes. Sound design and mixing principles are universal. For dialogue-heavy scenes, let me know the language in advance. Still, subtitles in english or portuguese, even generated are a valuable add-on.
What form should I send my film? And which format?
An online link (Vimeo, Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, SwissTransfer). Make sure I can access it without downloading huge files. Format preferences are *.mp4, *.mkv.
Do I need to have my sound already mixed?
No. I can review rough mixes, first edits or even just aligned production audio. The earlier you get feedback, the better.
What if I don't have a sound team?
My notes will be clear enough that you can do the work yourself (if are simple tasks like balancing dialogues or adding sounds) or hire someone based on my specific recommendations.
