What is the difference between this and Developmental Edit?
This is diagnosis: a letter telling you what's working, what isn't, and what to fix first. The Dev Edit is the fix itself — in-manuscript notes throughout, plus the same structural feedback. Many writers start here and use the assessment discount to move forward with dev edits and other needs
Does this include line edits or proofreading?
No. This is a structural assessment — story, pacing, characters, and market positioning. Grammar and sentence-level prose aren't covered. If you want that, my Proofread Pass or Developmental Edit gigs are the better fit.
Can I get in-line comments in the manuscript itself?
Yes — add the Annotated Manuscript extra. The base packages are letter-only.
Can I see your work before I commit?
Yes — message me for a free 1,000-word sample read.
What genres do you work with?
Fantasy, romance, romantasy, dark romance, thriller romance, and dystopian. If your book blends genres, that's normal — just mention it in your project brief.
Do you accept dark or mature content?
Yes (I love it, honestly). If your manuscript includes sensitive material, a heads-up in your project brief is appreciated but not required.
What if my manuscript is over 150k?
Message me before ordering and I'll send a custom quote. Please don't order a package that doesn't cover your full word count.
How do I submit my manuscript?
A single Word or PDF file, please — no links to shared drives or unfinished drafts. If your file is still in progress, wait until it's complete before ordering.
