About this gig
My lessons cover a wide variety of styles and techniques, and the required music theory as well (musical literacy, harmony and rhythm training, etc.) and also coaching for being in a band and develop yourself as a competent and complete bass player.
On the first lessons, we mainly focus on mastering the basic fretting and plucking techniques in order to be able to play the first basic songs. Then, we start incorporating scales, arpeggios and patterns in general.
We apply all that in building bass lines and melodies from scratch. From that point on, we start learning more advanced stuff such as melodic and harmonic improvisation, slap, tapping and other percussive techniques, etc.
We also discuss topics about different gear (bass brands and models, sound equipment, etc.), how to prepare for your band rehearsals, how to prepare for your first live presentations, etc.
In the between of all the above, we also have learn and develop songs from your favorite players and interpreters. Most bass students require to learn and analyze material from well known players such as Flea (RHCP), Paul McCartney, Jaco Pastorius and other contemporary musicians as well.

In 2003 I started giving lessons and playing bass professionaly.
Since 2020 Im giving online bass lessons in english and spanish from people all over the world.
My idea as a bass instructor, is helping you to reach new levels of playing, while in the process, you are going to discover differnt styles of music, and styles to play the bass, from rock to jazz, from pop to funk and latin music, from playing simple bass lines to create complex ones and elaborate intrincate bass solos.

What do I need to take the lessons?
You need to have your bass and its amp, a computer with acces to internet and a microphone, Usually the built-in microphone of a laptop does a decent job
Do you provide additional material apart from the lesson?
Yes. I provide music sheets, tabs, backing tracks and videos. If we conduct the lesson through Google Meet, I can also provide you a recording of the full lesson if you ask for it
Are you available off line for answering questions or solving doubts ?
If you take the regular lessons, you can ask me for help whenever you need.
Do I need to have any previous knowledge in music in order to start the lessons?
Not at all.
Which platform will we use?
I recommend Google Meets (I can provide you a full copy of the recorded lesson in case you ask for it), but I can also use Zoom or Whatsapp videocalls
Can I choose the songs I want to learn?
Most Definitely!
Do you teach music theory and reading?
Yes. At the beginning with start out just using tabs, but after a while and depending on the student's progress, we start working with the musical staff.
What ages do you teach?
From kids to adults. I the case of kids, parents are allowed to supervise or participate if it is their decision
What are your credentials or experience?
I have been teaching bass lessons since 2003 (in-person). In 2020 I started online. As a musician, I have been playing live and in the studio since the year 2003.
