About this gig

WP fail2ban is pre-installed as an "mu plugin" in DigitalOcean's standard WordPress Droplet (thanks DO!).


Unfortunately, many people don't know it needs manual updating from time to time.


It's very rare, but the release of v5 is one of those times.


I try very hard to add new features so that the old ones will carry on working, but v5 introduces a lot of really big changes - it just isn't possible to keep things working as before.


For this gig I'll update the fail2ban filters and check they're loaded correctly. If you're using the old "comment extra" feature I'll also update your wp-fail2ban.php file with the new settings (or for Premium users, check the settings migrated properly from v4).


There's no magic here - if you're comfortable with the command line you can easily do this yourself.
