I usually start from the base colour, apply shadings and go into fine details. After that, I use special layer effects like overlay, soft glow, etc. to make my artwork feel softer.

Major Revisions are at the initial stages of the artwork. For example, I can change the position of the hands or make the eyes go bigger, etc. Minor Revisions are towards the end of the process. I can only change the composition or do small changes like turning the 'frown' into a 'smile'.
