About this Gig
I'm the author of "New Traditions in Public Speaking" and the designer of two speech courses that have taught thousands to become better speakers. I have also trained and supervised dozens of other public speaking teachers during this time. Over the years, I have worked with students to coach them to optimal public speaking skills and confidence. I have a Ph.D. in Communication from Syracuse University and over two decades of experience teaching and coaching public speaking. I am also a certified hypnotherapist and NLP Master Practitioner who can help you reduce or eliminate anxiety you may have about public speaking. Let's work together on your next speech!
For this gig, the shorter your speech, the more detailed your feedback will be. Longer speeches will get less feedback, or you can buy extra lessons for detailed feedback on longer speeches. This is suggested for speeches over 15 minutes in length. Please message me if you have questions about this. How does the standard gig work?
You will send me your outline and answer a few simple questions about your speech and I will review your outline, making necessary changes where needed and suggesting options for you to consider beyond this. You will also get a set of concise speaking tips suited to your topic and speech situation.
How does the premium gig work?
The premium gig works like the standard gig, but with a second session where you send me a recording of you practicing your speech and I critique it and give advice to improve your presentation. You may also present live, but the second session is limited to 30 minutes total.
What is the Speech Anxiety extra?
We will schedule two additional sessions, one to interview you about your speech anxiety and do some initial work on reducing it, and a second session to reinforce and improve your reduction in speech anxiety. I use techniques of both hypnosis and NLP for this and will suggest other self-help.
What is the Develop & Coach extra?
This is for situations where you know you have to give a speech but don't know where to start. After you explain your speech situation, we will work together to select a topic and outline a speech, then work to help you practice it to optimal delivery. Up to five sessions of up to an hour included.
