Please note that I will not do homework assignments for you. I will simply tutor you and work with you to figure out how *you* can make revisions to grow as a writer.
Here are some of the first things I look for when I work with a client:
- Line of reasoning. Do you make effective claims that tie your evidence back to your topic?
- Evidence. Do you use the right amount of evidence? Is your evidence from trustworthy sources? Does your evidence support your claim?
- Elaboration. Do you explain your evidence well enough?
- Clarity. Can I understand what you’re trying to say? Do I need prior knowledge to be able to read it?
- Rhetorical situation. Do you have a clear purpose that makes sense considering the circumstances under which you’re writing it?
- Other rhetorical strategies. How do you make your argument? Is there any way you can do it more effectively?

What is your tutoring experience?
Great question! I'm a trained tutor, focusing on middle and high school students, but anyone is welcome to come to me for help, no matter your age.
What will we go over in a session?
This depends on your situation. We will assess where you are in the process and together we will work on getting you to a better place. I prefer to work on higher order concerns (HOCs) first, and later order concerns (LOCs) after we've worked on the HOCs.
Is anyone welcome to come for help?
Yes! No matter your age or experience, I can help you get to a better place in your writing.
Are you a native English speaker?
Yes, I'm a native speaker and was born in the United States, and I am happy to work with anyone no matter your dialect or birthplace.
What if I need help with brainstorming/don't have a draft yet?
That's fine! I will be more than happy to help you get started and help you find a topic.
What pieces of writing will you offer help with?
You can bring any piece of writing to your session, including essays, blog articles, homework assignments, research papers, narrative short stories, and more.
Will you write an essay/do my homework for me?
No. I will never engage in academic dishonesty, and you shouldn't buy my gig if that is what you're looking for.
