Novels have advantages and limitations when creating a trailer. It is impossible to bring actors to do the trailer. One of the great joys of reading is imagining the world of the story in your head. A book trailer should suggest your story without feeding all of it to the reader. It should make the reader want to know more about it.

I am a writer and filmmaker who wants to help other writers and filmmakers become more successful with their projects. I have an MFA in film from the New York Film Academy and an MFA in VFX from the Academy of Art University. I have been writing my whole life and slowly publishing my novels. I have taught how to write, edit and record sound in workshop settings for seven years. I have edited professionally for fifteen years. I would like an opportunity to help others improve their writing, create media plans for their creative pursuits and do small videos to promote their work.

What do I need for you to make the trailer?
You will need a book cover image in jpeg format, a great description of the book in 300 words or less, and a genre (even if it is mixed).
Does my book need to be completed?
No. A trailer is a great way to get the buzz going. I do need a really nice description of the plot. It helps to get a sense of the story so the trailer fits. While it is possible to do the trailer without the cover, it will be better if you already have the cover designed.
Where do you get the images?
I get the images either from you, like the book cover (or you if you want), or from stock images. A part of my price goes towards memberships for stock images. All images used need to have clear copyright permissions. I will guarantee it on my end, and ask the same from you.
Where do you get the music?
I use royalty-free memberships. I believe as a writer and a media professional that using media with appropriate copyright is important. I know it is not as exciting as a popular song, but it is definitely much cheaper to get the rights to use it.
What if I hate the music?
All videos have either one or two revisions depending on the package. If you hate the music, I can change it to a different one. It is also possible not to use music.
Do you use animation?
I will use animation of text and maybe a bit of an image in the first and last images on the trailer. It is not an animated trailer. I use some movement to add a bit of style to the trailer.
How do you chose the color scheme?
I will base them on the cover of your book.
