About this Gig
This alpha reading service will give you constructive and actionable criticism about your short story, novel, or book. In a Google Document, you will receive comments throughout your work offering suggestions, questions that may unanswered, commentary from the points of view of both a professional and a reader. If there are any specific questions that you have I will do my best to answer them fully.
Your creative liberty is important, and by submitting the document back to you in this way you can decide what feedback is valuable to you, and discard the rest. I will pay special attention to the plot, characters, dialogue, plausibility, and pace.
I am open to many different genres. If you are unsure if we would be a good match, please reach out to me and we can discuss your reservations

Why should I pay you to alpha read my fanfiction?
Getting unbiased opinions from friends and family can be difficult. They tend to want to please you or conversely, bring you down. I am here to give you a professional opinion to help you to better your work.
How do I know my work is protected?
I know how much your story means to you. I will review your story on a secure laptop and google docs where the contents remain password protected. I am happy to sign a non-disclosure agreement upon request.
Will you rewrite/edit/proofread my text?
No, this service doesn't include grammar or spell check, or editing. I will read your fanfiction, then provide feedback. I do offer these services separately, and you can message me or view my profile to purchase.
Should I bundle a proofreading or editing service with this one?
I recommend going through the feedback on your alpha read first. Make any changes that you feel are appropriate before contacting me for additional edits, so that you can get the full value of those services.
What will you need from me?
I only need a document with your rough draft. It can be rtf, Microsoft word or google docs, but I must have permissions to edit the work when applicable.
