Copy-editing and proofreading

Absolutely NOT! Software does not distinguish between palate, pallet and palette. I go through every document twice, and almost invariably I catch things on the second pass that I missed on the first. Can I turn around 20,000 words in 24 hours? Probably not. And that's a good thing. Trust me!
Spelling is the most obvious difference: color vs colour, etc. There are also different punctuation and vocabulary conventions. If you need one or the other, please let me know that.
As long as I can discern what you are trying to say, I'm happy to work with you to polish your writing. If the text needs extensive work -- several corrections in each sentence, for example -- I will not be able to do the work at my base rate but will give you the most reasonable price possible.
Proofreading is detail-oriented work. I am a perfectionist, and I won't sacrifice accuracy to haste. I tend to overestimate the turnaround time to avoid rushing to meet the deadline. That said, I try to turn all work around as rapidly as I can, and for short documents, it's often within 24 hours.
