I studied binaural beats and created the soundtracks that helps to change a mental state.
There are five main types of brain rhythms (alpha, beta, gamma, delta, theta). They are always present in braine, but in different proportions. Also different hemispheres and zones of brain may have different main rhythms.
While using binaural beats you can connect to work on the task more larger part of your brain or even synchronize all your brain.
Binaural beats are not a panacea. If you listen to all day binaural theta rhythms, but at the same time you are worry, you will not achieve a meditative state. But if you use the rhythms during meditation - you will achieve the better results.
My experience is that the best results are when binaural beats combined together with the music specially selected by the rhythm. Music enhances the beats impact and reduces the brain inertia.
