Q1. What bookkeeping services do you provide?
Monthly bookkeeping, bank/credit card reconciliations, cleanup/catch-up, AP/AR organization, payroll journal posting, GST/HST & UK VAT prep, and month end reports. I also deliver a year end package (trial balance, GL, bank reconciliations and financial statements).
Q2. Which accounting softwares do you use?
For Bookkeeping: QuickBooks Online, Xero, Zoho Books, Sage (Business Cloud & Sage 50), Wave, Odoo, FreshBooks, NetSuite etc For Real Estate: REI Hub, Buildium, and AppFolio. For Payroll: Gusto, QuickBooks Payroll, ADP, Paychex, Wagepoint (Canada), and BrightPay (UK).
Q3. Do you handle cleanup and backlogs?
Yes. I fix the chart of accounts, import/categorize missing transactions, remove duplicates, reconcile all accounts, and document every adjustment. You get a cleanup summary and a clean starting point.
Q4. What do you need from me to get started?
Please provide bank statements (PDF) for all accounts/credit cards and secure access to your accounting software (accountant access).
Q5. How do you handle sales tax (GST/HST or UK VAT)?
I set correct tax codes, review zero-rated/exempt items, reconcile returns to the GL and bank, and provide an evidence pack (reports and reconciliations). I can provide hand off a ready-to-file summary.
Q6. What reports will I receive each month?
Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow (indirect), AR/AP aging, bank reconciliations, plus a short management summary with key notes, trends, and next actions.
Q7. How fast is delivery?
For monthly clients, I close the month within 3-5 business days after receiving all documents. Cleanup/catch-up timelines depend on scope; I share a clear plan and milestones before we start.
