I will upgrade your legacy PHP or wordpress plugin to PHP 8 4

About this gig
Is your custom PHP code or WordPress plugin stuck on an old PHP version? PHP 7.4 reached end of life on 28 Nov 2022, and PHP 8.2 security support ends on 31 Dec 2026. I upgrade legacy PHP code and WordPress plugins and themes to run on PHP 8.4.
How it works:
- You send a zip of your code. No logins, ever: no server, hosting, database or admin access. Please remove passwords and API keys first.
- I scan it, fix what breaks or is deprecated on a separate branch, and review every change myself.
- You get a zip or git branch, a plain-English change log and the before/after results. You deploy it when you are ready.
What I test: PHP 8.4 lint on every file, static compatibility checks, your own tests if you send them, and for WordPress plugins and themes a run in a sandboxed WordPress site on SQLite.
What I can't test: your server, your data, MySQL-specific queries and third-party integrations. Please try the upgrade on a staging copy first.
I use AI-assisted tools, and I review every change before delivery.
Not included: framework upgrades (Laravel, Symfony), new features, hosting or deployment. Bigger code? Message me first with a rough line count.
Respect third-party rights
Please be aware that it is against Fiverr's policies for sellers to include themes, templates, or any other elements that infringe third-party rights or applicable laws in the delivered work. Read more about in our Guide to Responsible Digital Creation.

FAQ
Do you need my server login?
No. I never ask for or use server, hosting, database or admin logins. You upload a zip of the code here, I send back an upgraded zip or git branch with a change log, and you deploy it yourself when you're ready.
What if my code is bigger?
Message me before ordering with a rough line count. I'll quote a custom offer, or we can start with one module or plugin. Lines count your own PHP files, including comments and blank lines; libraries in vendor/ don't count.
What do you test, and what don't you?
I run PHP 8.4 lint, static compatibility checks, your own tests if you send them, and, for WordPress plugins and themes, a sandboxed WordPress site on SQLite. I can't test your server, your data, MySQL-specific queries or third-party integrations, so please try it on a staging copy first.
Do you use AI?
Yes. I use AI-assisted tools to find and fix issues, and I review every change myself before delivery. The change log lists each edit, so you can see exactly what changed and why.
Do you upgrade Laravel, Symfony or other frameworks?
No. I upgrade custom PHP code and WordPress plugins and themes. I don't take on framework upgrades, new builds, hosting, deployment or server work.
