A: It is extremely accurate (>98%), far surpassing traditional regex OCR tools. Because it is a large multimodal model, it understands context (e.g. distinguishing invoice date from due date, even on blurry photo receipts).
Do I need an OpenAI API key?
Basic & Standard use a free model (zero cost!), though we can use your API if you prefer. Premium requires your OpenAI API for peak accuracy. Don't worry about costs parsing 100 invoices/month is only ~$2! It's a tiny price for flawless results.
Q: Can this handle multi-page invoices?
A: Yes. The script can split PDFs and send all pages to the model, aggregating the totals.
Q: Can this run automatically when I receive an invoice in my email?
A: Yes. In the Premium package, I can connect the script to monitor your Gmail inbox, read incoming attachments, and auto-parse them.
Q: What document formats are supported?
A: PDF, PNG, JPG, and JPEG. I can also integrate your desired file or image formatting.
Q: Is my vendor data secure?
A: Absolutely. Since this script runs locally on your Google Apps Script environment, it only sends the document directly to OpenAI's API. No third-party servers store your invoices.

Q: What happens if an invoice file is not a valid invoice?
A: I write validation checks. If the AI detects the file is not an invoice, it moves it to a "Failed/Manual Review" Google Drive folder and flags it.
