About this gig
It is exciting to publish your own book! Ensuring proper format for print or ebook can be quite daunting, though. But don't let that hold you back. I will be happy to help you get your book to the finish line.
I have worked primarily with Amazon KDP, Lulu.com, and IngramSpark, using their templates to make sure books print correctly. However, if you are using another publisher (or a local printer), I can still help. Let's work together to reach that goal.
These are the most common programs I use for formatting:
Cover:
- Adobe Photoshop
Interior:
- Adobe InDesign
- Microsoft Word
The templates provided by publishers use these programs as well. I also work with Canva and Google Docs.
Be prepared with information on book size, typeface (font) preference (if you have one), and any images or graphics you would like to use. Please keep in mind that with the cover, I only provide layout, not illustration.
If you have any questions about the process, please feel free to contact me before ordering. We can also discuss custom orders for shorter or longer projects. I want to work with you to make sure we end up with pleasing results!

I am an artist and writer at heart. Coupling that with my driving desire to make sure everything looks neat and professional, I have obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Graphic Design and have worked through a training course on the skills of proofreading (for which I already had strong tendencies since school days). For over a decade, I have used both graphic design and editing/proofreading in my previous job, for volunteer projects in my community, and for family and friends.
FAQ
Do you do illustrated children's books?
Yes, I can! Those are typically done in InDesign, and I will provide a PDF copy for you (as well as the InDesign file if you want). Keep in mind, though, that I do not do illustration. You will need to provide any images for your book.
Do you provide cover illustrations?
No, I do not. I will take what you have and put it together in the appropriate template (based on page count for the interior), but I do not offer illustration.
If I have my book published in different languages, can I get a discount on additional versions?
Yes! If I have helped you with the initial formatting of your book, then any future copies in other languages can be done at a discount. We can discuss it together and set up a custom order accordingly.
Will you also proofread my book when you format it?
I can do that for you, and we can either set them up as two different projects or combine them into one custom project.
Will you submit my book for me through Amazon/other publisher once the formatting is done?
No. You will have to provide specific information to the publisher that I do not have—and should not have. However, if any issues come up when you go to publish (such as being told text or images are outside the margins), we can work together to get that fixed.
