I will diagnose and fix react or nextjs bugs in your existing app

About this gig
Have a React or Nextjs app with a bug that is eating time, breaking a workflow, or refusing to behave consistently?
I work on existing applications and troubleshoot the problem before reaching for a rewrite.
I can help with issues such as:
React component and state bugs
Nextjs routing, rendering, and data issues
API and frontend integration failures
Forms, validation, and user-flow problems
TypeScript errors
Responsive and UI behavior bugs
Regressions after a change or deployment
Hard-to-reproduce production issues
I have more than 20 years of software engineering experience and have worked hands-on in production codebases ranging from startups to larger SaaS and financial systems.
Before I begin, Ill review the issue, available reproduction steps, and the relevant code so we agree on what is actually being fixed.
If the problem turns out to be larger than the selected package, Ill explain what I found before expanding the scope. No surprise rebuilds and no pretending a symptom is the root cause.

FAQ
What do you need from me before you start?
Please send a clear description of the problem, what you expected to happen, what actually happens, and any steps you know that reproduce it. I will also need access to the relevant source code or repository. Screenshots, console errors, logs, and recent change details are helpful when available.
What counts as one bug?
One bug is a single, reasonably isolated problem with one underlying cause. If investigation shows that several symptoms come from the same root issue, they may still fit within one bug. Separate unrelated problems are additional scope.
What if you discover the issue is larger than expected?
I will stop and explain what I found before doing work outside the agreed scope. If additional work is needed, we can use a Gig Extra or a custom offer. I will not quietly turn a small debugging order into a much larger project.
Can you work in an existing codebase?
Yes. Existing applications are the focus of this Gig. I am comfortable reading unfamiliar React, Nextjs, JavaScript, and TypeScript codebases, tracing behavior across components and APIs, and making targeted changes without unnecessarily rewriting working code.
Can you fix bugs in production?
Yes, depending on the application and access available. I can diagnose production-only issues and prepare fixes, but production deployment or infrastructure work may require a separate scope because hosting, CI/CD, permissions, and release processes vary widely between applications.
