What's included in your novel copy editing service?
I correct grammar, spelling, tone and style deviations, wordiness, clunky transitions, confusing syntax, problematic words, and uneven flow. You'll receive thorough copy editing in Word with track changes enabled.
How long does copy editing take?
Turnaround time depends on your manuscript's word count and my current workload. I'll provide an accurate timeline after reviewing your project details.
What file format do you work in?
I work exclusively in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) with track changes enabled, so you can review every suggestion I make.
Do you copy edit all novel genres?
Yes! I copy edit fiction across all genres including romance, thriller, fantasy, literary fiction, sci-fi, mystery, and more.
Should I get developmental editing before copy editing?
Absolutely. Copy editing achieves the best results after your story structure, plot, and character development are solid. Developmental editing should always come first.
Will you rewrite sections of my novel?
Copy editing focuses on sentence-level refinement, not rewriting. I'll suggest improvements and corrections, but the voice and story remain yours.

Do you use AI to generate your copy edits?
No. I don't use generative AI to edit your manuscript. I may use tools like Grammarly to flag issues, but all copy editing decisions are made by me using professional judgment. You receive genuine human editing.
