Hey there! Welcome to my Bulgarian Folklore Drum Set gig!
In this Gig you'll be able to get professional recording on music pieces that are in odd time signature or are inspired by Bulgarian folklore music. My background is jazz music and I come into the folklore style with the jazz intention and try to blend it with the traditional music of my people. I was born in Bulgaria and lived my entire life here. This music has followed me since my childhood and inspired me to this day. and feel very much connected to it. It speaks to me, so to say.
If you wonder if I can play the tupan (the traditional drum from this region) I can to a certain degree and if you need basic rhythms or the sound, I have a tupan at my disposal and can do the job, but I don't feel much connected to it and I really prefer the drum set in my explorations into this musical field. My level with it is somewhere in the intermediate spectrum.

Hello there!
My name is Andrey Velkov. I live in Sofia, Bulgaria and have been working as a musician for more than 10 years. I graduated from the Bulgarian National Music Academy in 2015 and have been working on different projects and as a teacher ever since. My main instrument is the drum set but I play lots of different percussion instruments such as Bendir, Darbuka, Bodhran and some other percussion instruments on lower level of expertise. I'm playing in different projects based in Sofia, in a variety of music styles.
