I'm Ali and I am an artist based in Manchester, UK. I specialise in custom fabric sculptures with an impressionistic and humorous style. I love interpreting real world places and imagined ideas through mixed textile materials. I enjoy experimenting with, unusual techniques to create unique, characterful pieces.
FAQ
What do you need from me to get started?
You let me know what you're thinking of and it if it something/someone in particular some reference photos (unless its something easily searchable, then I can take care of that!) I will then come back with initial sketch.
How does this process work?
You let me know your idea. We will work on it together (with concept sketches) until we have an agreed form I will then start on the sculpture based on the sketches You will receive updates during progress to allow for any revisions you may wish for
Does our working on the initial draft count as a revision?
No, we work on the initial brief until we agree I start. Once I've started the piece any changes requested are a revision.
Can you recreate a person, pet or character?
Yes, I can work from photos or even descriptions. Note that my art has an impressionistic/conceptual style so you won't get hyper realism but I will capture the essence of the subject.
Can you make something completely from imagination?
Yes indeed - I am able to work with you to sketch out the concept before I start even if it only starts out as a vague idea we can work together to bring your vision to life.
What size will by sculpture be?
Sizes vary by commission, we will be able to work out the approximate size whilst we agree the concept and before I get started so you will know what to expect.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes - For me international is outside of the UK, so if you are ordering from outside of the UK there will be an additional USD 15 charge for international shipping.
