I provide editorial and reader-focused support to authors working to turn developing manuscripts into more polished and engaging books. My work sits between traditional editing and genuine reader reaction, giving authors practical insight into both the writing itself and the experience it creates on the page. I review manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, wording, sentence structure, clarity, consistency, and overall readability, with careful attention to preserving the author's voice. Rather than rewriting a manuscript to sound like my own writing, I focus on identifying what needs attention and making improvements that remain faithful to the author's intended style. My reader-focused work involves stepping into the manuscript without assuming what the author intended and responding to what actually appears on the page. I look for moments where the story naturally pulls me forward, as well as sections where I may become uncertain, lose momentum, question a character's decision, or feel less connected to the story. I pay close attention to pacing, character development, dialogue, relationships, plot movement, chapter transitions, emotional impact, and reader engagement. I also provide clear, actionable feedback so authors can understand not only what may need revision, but why it affects the reading experience. Every manuscript is approached according to its genre, audience, and stage of development. My goal is to give authors another perspective before their work reaches readers, combining detailed editorial attention with honest observations from the reader's side of the page.

I work independently with authors who want their manuscripts to read naturally, hold attention, and leave a stronger impression on their intended readers. My role combines careful editorial work with the perspective of an engaged reader, allowing me to look at a manuscript from both sides of the reading experience. I edit fiction and nonfiction manuscripts with attention to grammar, punctuation, sentence flow, clarity, consistency, structure, and readability while taking care not to flatten the author's personality or replace their natural voice with generic wording. I believe good editing should make a writer's work feel more like itself, only clearer and stronger. My beta reading work takes a different approach. Instead of editing every sentence, I experience the manuscript as a reader would and identify the moments that create curiosity, emotional connection, confusion, hesitation, or loss of interest. I pay particular attention to pacing, character development, relationships, dialogue, plot progression, chapter flow, emotional impact, and places where the story may not communicate what the author intended. I have worked with authors at different stages of the writing process, from manuscripts still being shaped to books approaching publication. Each project receives an approach suited to its genre, goals, and current stage rather than a one-size-fits-all process. My aim is simple: help authors see what is working, discover what may be getting in the way, and make informed revisions while keeping the heart and identity of their book intact.
