Will you beta read and critique any genre?
Yes. I have no problem with any fiction genre from sweet, feel-good stories to romance to mystery. I read across multiple genres and have studied genre conventions and quality writing for years.
Will you be brutally honest with your feedback?
I'll be 100% honest but not brutally. I do not believe in tearing down or discouraging any writer. I'll try be kind and made a supportive criticism that is also effective when it comes to making your story as great as possible. Maybe some comments may seem blunt, but they are all designed to help.
Do you offer alpha reading for first drafts or incomplete stories?
Yes. While beta reading focuses on a finished story that has been self-edited already, some writers want feedback on earlier drafts. I'm happy to help with these types of projects too.
Will you correct all my grammar, misspellings, and punctuation issues?
This is not a line edit or proofreading service. While I may point out noticeable grammar, spelling, or punctuation issues when I come across them, I do not guarantee fully edited or error-free manuscripts.
