I started in reviewing property tax exemptions and reassessment exclusions for homeowners, disabled veterans, and institutions for 2 years. I then had 18 months experience in title transfer, working on deed chains, changes in ownership, and parent-child exclusion claims. Finally I was promoted to appraiser and have experience in residential, commercial, agricultural, and historical property appraisal, as well as appraisal of vacant land and manufactured homes. I have worked in properties ranging from celebrity houses to low-income housing projects to historical structures and am well versed in Californian property tax law on a wide variety of topics. While there are many people who have been doing the job for longer, very few people have the breadth of experience I have.
