My manuscript isn't fully edited yet, should I send it now or wait?
Wait, if possible. Layout work locks in page breaks and pagination, so late text edits can shift your table of contents and cause reflow issues. Finish content edits first, then format.
Will the same file work for both paperback and ebook?
No, they need separate files. Print requires fixed trim size, margins, and bleed; ebooks reflow to fit any screen. I deliver both from one design pass, but they're built as distinct files.
What if my book has a lot of images, does that change the process?
Yes. Image-heavy books (cookbooks, children's books, illustrated non-fiction) need higher-resolution files and tighter placement work than text-only books. Send images at full resolution upfront to avoid quality loss during layout.
