eLearning Video Developer: Security Guard Onboarding Course

I built a complete new-hire training course for a Washington State security company, turning a dense written onboarding booklet into short, narrated e-learning videos for brand-new unarmed security guards. The course walks learners through the welcome and their role, Washington licensing requirements, daily duties and customer service, and working conditions and safety. I started by studying the client's licensing booklet, job description, and study questions, then organized everything into clear modules. Each one has a spoken-style script, practical steps, a real-life scenario (like a suspicious car on patrol or a blocked emergency exit), and a short recap so learners can check what they remember. I designed every slide in the company's blue-and-white brand, using their logo, clean layouts, icons, and images in the style of their marketing flyer, and added an American male voiceover with timed pauses for the recap questions. The client was involved throughout, which I enjoyed. Midway, they asked me to rewrite the trainer's introduction in his own words and add a "call 911 immediately" safety slide. I made both changes quickly and kept the whole course consistent. I also created a title slide, a trainer introduction, and a short intro video and flyer for their certified trainer. Tools I used include Canva, PowerPoint, ElevenLabs for the voiceover, and AI image tools, which I always disclose to the client. What I'm proud of is turning a long, text-heavy document into modules that are short, clear, and easy to follow, and that look and sound like the company's own training. We're now planning the remaining modules and a final 45-question test.
