FAQ
Do I need to prove I own the website before you test it?
Yes. Before any testing begins, I require written confirmation that you own the website or have explicit permission to test it. This protects both of us and is standard professional practice. I will not start work without it.
Will the penetration test take my website offline or damage it?
No. I use controlled, non-destructive testing methods only no denial-of-service attacks, no data deletion, no destructive payloads. For high-traffic or sensitive production sites, I recommend testing on a staging copy first.
What will I actually receive at the end?
You receive a professional penetration testing report containing: an executive summary for non-technical stakeholders, each vulnerability rated Critical/High/Medium/Low with proof of concept, affected components, and plain-English remediation steps your developer can act on immediately.
Do I need to give you login credentials?
Only if you want authenticated testing. This is strongly recommended because many real vulnerabilities (broken access control, privilege escalation) only appear after login. If you prefer not to share credentials, I can perform unauthenticated testing, but the scope and depth will be more limited.
Is my data and report kept confidential?
Yes. I sign an NDA on request before any work begins. Your report, credentials, and any access you provide are never shared, reused, or disclosed. After the engagement, I can delete or return all testing data per your preference.
Do you fix the vulnerabilities you find?
My core service is testing, reporting, and remediation guidance. The report is written so your developer can fix issues immediately. The Premium package includes one retest after your team applies fixes to verify they actually work.
