By default, no. A heightmap will be exported, which is a greyscale 2D image where height is represented by value. The higher any given point, the closer to white the pixel will be. However, an obj file is available upon request.

By default, I will provide 16-bit png and tiff files, though a full list of available file types can be provided upon request.

Absolutely! Just be aware that the resulting terrain may differ slightly from the original map, due to the nature of World Machine. I'll do my best to preserve any features you specifically request, though!

This will largely depend on the software you're importing it to. The documentation for your software may tell you how to import it. For a 3D package like Cinema 4D, for example, you could use the heightmap as a displacement map on a plane object.

Build times in World Machine increase exponentially with the resolution. As such, building a higher resolution heightmap simply takes longer, even if the process is the same.

Creating a good, realistic texture in World Machine is a pretty chaotic and time consuming endeavor, in my experience. This is reflected in the additional cost.
