Reddit Marketing Campaign — Field Service SaaS

A field service software client wanted to reach technicians and dispatchers where they actually hang out online not through ads, but through real conversation. The challenge: field service pros are busy, skeptical of sales pitches, and quick to spot a plant. So instead of talking about the product, I opened a discussion around something every field tech deals with: the non-technical stuff that eats their day waiting for customer access, incomplete work orders, last-minute schedule changes. I posted the question directly to r/FieldService and let people vent. They did. The thread pulled 39 comments of techs comparing notes on their worst logistics headaches. Partway through, when someone mentioned the admin side of the job, I steered the conversation toward tools that actually reduce that burden and the client's platform came up naturally, the way a peer would recommend something that's worked for them, not a pitch. The post became the #1 post of all time on the account and the #1 post on r/FieldService that day, pulling 2,800+ views. What it delivered: - 2,800+ organic views, zero ad spend - 39 comments of genuine engagement from the target audience (field techs and dispatchers) - Brand mentioned naturally within an organic reply, not as a standalone plug - #1 post of all time on the account, #1 on r/FieldService on launch day This is the model I use for SaaS and service-based businesses: find the conversation your audience is already having, join it as a real participant, and let the product come up when it's actually relevant not before.
