Have you had anything you've written produced?
Yes. I have had over twelve films produced, a TV series episode and a pilot presentation (for a series I created). I currently have a couple of projects out to studio companies and interest in a TV series I created.
What can a good short film do for an aspiring filmmaker's career?
Everything. If you are not born into the business, film festivals are most likely the only avenue you have into the Hollywood studio system.
