Beta reading focuses on reader experience - I give feedback as your ideal reader on what works and how the story feels. Dev editing is more technical, analyzing structure and craft like a writing coach would. Lucky for you, I provide both!

You'll receive a comprehensive report covering plot structure, character development, pacing, story flow, and any specific concerns you mention. I'll evaluate your opening hook, identify plot holes or inconsistencies, analyze character arcs and motivations, and assess overall story impact.

Yup! I read fiction involving characters of any gender or sexual orientation. And I'm comfortable reading potentially triggering content and stories with darker elements (and adult content). My only boundary is that all characters in romantic situations must be 18+.

Absolutely, 100% YES! I will never share your work or talk about your work with anyone. I will only use what you send me to read your story and provide a dev edit. After the order is marked complete, I'll delete your file from my computer (then empty the Recycle Bin so it's extra deleted).

No! Writing is tricky and there are so many rules that there are 1000+ page books dedicated to it (the kind so heavy they serve as doorstops). Everyone makes mistakes. I'm here to help you gain insight into your writing, not to judge.

I prefer complete manuscripts since the full reader experience is important, but I'm open to discussing partial manuscripts depending on your needs.

Developmental beta reading is a one-time read-through with comprehensive feedback. If you'd like additional rounds after making changes, that would be a separate order.

That's totally fine! Developmental beta reading is subjective - I'm just one reader's perspective. Take what resonates and leave what doesn't. Every reader brings their own preferences and experiences to a book.
