How's your software working? Is it working well...or has some problems with the design and/or implementation?
Software is actually a system and must be approached from a systems level to be successful. Much of the software written today is done with junior team members who have focus on only one of the several areas of the total software system...
And some developer and software designers are better than others...and are difficult to find and keep. This forces software design downwards in terms of quality and reliability. And it's in the design area where most short sightedness and oversights occur.
I do Software Success Reviews. I take a look at your software system, your architecture and design, your problem and pain areas, and also your development team (time permitting). A lot of software development problems are design related...and some are also team problems - Inadequate experience and skills so they take the "quickest way out" and you pay for it later when its really hard to fix and impacts your customers and profit.
In the Software Success Review we'll analyze your software from a high level and spot areas of weakneses, problems, and provide solution paths.

While this may seem a bit odd for regular folks, it's all in a normal day's work for a polymath.

Is this a code review?
No. We generally do not review code for this. It's a higher level. Code reviews take a lot of time. Here we take a top down look at your software system and find the problem and pain areas and advise you on solutions before they cause major problems. Risk avoidance is part of this.
Is this all confidential?
Yes. Completely. I can sign your NDA if you'd like.
Is this based on the number of hours in the package?
Yes. Sometimes we can do a high level review in just a few hours including Zoom calls, analysis, and a written report. The Basic Package of 4 hours is only for rather simple software system and as software complexity increases a package with a higher number of hours is needed. We can quote more.
Do you provide a written analysis report?
Yes. We provide you with a targeted analysis report in PDF form that briefly describes your system and problems, analyzes the root cause(s), and details Solution Paths to fix them.
You keep mentioning "application system"...I just have an app...
Actually all software today is most often an application system consisting of a front end, back end, database, admin system and interface, and hopefully some monitoring as well. All this comprises a system...an application system.
Do you do design? Development?
Yes I do software, database, and dataware design. I also do development but restrict myself in what areas and technologies I develop with...as that is most often so complicated that it is a full time job in itself in just keeping up with the nuances. I've developed full application systems. Ask.
Why is a Software Success Review important?
Most software is built incrementally by multiple and serial developers of varying ability and skills. With the lack of in depth expertise and the time pressures involved, software often becomes layered mess. Early Software Success Review at the design stage greatly helps with implementation success.
What do you mean by "Software Success"?
Most software is not very successful in that it takes to long to develop, is over budget, and then does not perform well or reliably thus impacting customer satisfaction and sales and profits. Getting software right is more of an art than a standard practice today. Success means it runs great!
