Hi! I'm Coach Mark and I am a professional chess coach, YouTube content creator, and chess app developer. My YouTube channel has 3700 subscribers, with lots of free lessons, masterclasses, etc. I am also the creator of a brand new chess app called Chess Pro Trainer (available on Apple/Google Play Stores).
I have played over half a million games in my life and my all-time high rating on chess.com is 2336. My background is in engineering so naturally chess fits my style. I am addicted to helping people reach their goals and will do everything in my power to make that happen for you. Let's go!!

What platform do you use for your online lessons?
Zoom calls.
What is your hourly rate?
$60/hour
How do you design your lessons?
I'm here to serve you, but usually 20-40 minutes of material (strategies, openings, tactics, concepts, etc. and the rest of the time coaching you "over the shoulder" while you play unrated games on chess.com against random opponents as we brainstorm moves as I get a feel for your thoughts and plans.
When are you typically available?
I'm in the USA eastern time zone (NY Time) and am usually available from 1 pm to 10 pm Monday - Friday.
Do you do 30 minute lessons?
No, I used to but there just isn't enough time to cram in what we need to discuss in 30 minutes. 60 minutes is the minimum but as previously mentioned, I'm not a stickler about time and it's no problem for the lesson to run longer than an hour. My main concern is ensuring you get what you need.
Do you record lessons?
Yes, I will create a private YouTube playlist for you where all lessons will be stored online for you to watch at your convenience.
Do you assign practice/homework for me to work on in between lessons?
Yes absolutely depending on your opportunities for improvement, but one of the best things you can do for your game is to work on the drills and training modules on my chess app - Chess Pro Trainer. It's available for download on the Apple and Google Play stores and you get free daily positions.

Coach Mark is an excellent coach. Goes above and beyond in his lessons and makes things easy to understand. Gives incredibly helpful resources to practice openings and gives live coaching to help with making midgame plans. Can't recomend Coach Mark enough.
