Gig Summary
About this gig
Stuck at the same rating no matter how many games you play?
You are an adult who loves chess, but the games and training is not helping you to improve, you do not have unlimited evenings to spare.
I'm Saro Khachatouri, FIDE Instructor, 2064 FIDE, 13+ years coaching adults from absolute beginners through 1800+ chess.com.
You get a personalized 1-on-1 program built around YOUR games and improvement:
- Full assessment of your strenghts, weaknesses and player profile
- A clear training plan with weekly priorities (no random training)
- Deep analysis of your own games, one of the fastest ways to improve
- Assistance with opening repertoire choices tailored to your style
- Tactics, positional understanding and practical endgame patterns
- Homework + Lichess Study materials between lessons
- A clear methodology you can keep using long after we stop
Why work with me: Adult improvers have limited time. I respect that. My students get structure, not a random collection of training material. We measure progress in understanding, then in rating.
Lessons via Zoom + Lichess Study. Before booking, message me with your chess.com/lichess profile and your gaol - I will confirm fit before you order

I've been playing competitive chess since I was 14 and coaching since 2014.
I've competed in the Austrian Bundesliga and international tournaments including the Spilimbergo Masters.
I've spent the last 10 years turning what I learned on that road into a structured coaching method that gets real results.
No generic lessons.
No winging it.
Every session is built around your games and skills.

FAQ
Which platforms and software are used for the 1-1 Coaching
For communication during the lesson we use Zoom. The software in place I use for working on your chess is Chessbase 17 (state of the art).
How are the lessons delivered, and what software do I need?
Lessons are 1-on-1 via Zoom and we use a private lichess Study to walk through positions and your games. You only need a free lichess account.
How quickly will I see improvement in my chess rating?
Honestly, it depends on how much you play and how disciplined you are with the training. Adults who put in 2-4h per week alongside coaching, typically see meaningful rating gains within 2-3 months
I am an adult and feel embarrassed about my level
The majority of my adult students started exactly where you are. There is zero judgement. I have coached players age 18 to 65. We start with where you are right now and build from there. Chess is a long game. With time and structured training you will see improvement

This lesson was an introduction, but he came well prepared by reviewing my games beforehand. He walked me through ideas, opening theory, and positional improvements based on my own games, which made the lesson very relevant and easy to follow. After the review, he gave me a clear direction and practice...

Ongoing collaborationExcellent session with Saro today! We started by discussing the most effective way to use the official study materials for long-term improvement. This gave me a much clearer roadmap for my daily practice. Saro pushed me to calculate every line thoroughly and only make a move once I’m certain. This discipline...
