I was hired to enhance and optimize a WordPress-based finance calculator website with the goal of improving user experience, SEO visibility, performance, and client satisfaction. I began with a full-site audit (technical, content, UX, and security) to identify priority issues and define a phased plan. Technical & performance improvements Performed code and asset audit to eliminate render-blocking resources, combining/minifying CSS and JavaScript and deferring non-critical scripts. Implemented server-side and client-side caching, configured Brotli/Gzip compression, and optimized caching rules via Cloudflare to reduce Time to First Byte (TTFB) and overall load times. Optimized images (WebP conversion, responsive srcset) and implemented lazy loading for below-the-fold assets, reducing page weight significantly SEO & content optimization Conducted keyword research tailored to financial calculators and user intent, then revised page titles, meta descriptions, headings, and schema markup (FAQ & Product/Software schema) to improve SERP relevance. Restructured content for clarity and search intent, creating concise H1/H2 hierarchies and adding descriptive alt text for images. Implemented canonical tags and fixed duplicate content issues across calculator pages and landing pages. Configured XML sitemaps, robots.txt, and integrated Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for monitoring. Set up and monitored structured data testing and fixed markup errors to improve rich results eligibility. UX, accessibility & conversion Redesigned the calculator UI for mobile-first responsiveness, simplifying input flows, adding inline validation, and improving accessibility (ARIA roles, keyboard navigation, color contrast).
