Ready to take your fiction up a level? I'm passionate about helping writers develop their manuscripts. With over 15 years experience in editing, coaching, and teaching fiction, I've worked with hundreds of writers on their manuscripts. I train other editors as a faculty member in the University of Chicago's Editing Certificate program, and I've assisted with manuscripts from a wide-range of genres, including literary fiction, science fiction, fantasy, horror, young adult, middle grades, and chapter books.

My core belief is that strong developmental editing is all about how I can help heighten the work you're already doing in your manuscript and how I can help your fiction meet its goals and potential. I'm aesthetically open, and I pride myself on creating supportive, encouraging editing relationships with my clients.

I have particular expertise in building out a manuscript's narrative structure (my textbook on narrative structure is forthcoming from Bloomsbury Academic!), and I love to get into the weeds of how a narrative functions across a full manuscript.
