About this Gig
Google has announced that they will phase out 3rd party cookie tracking worldwide in the Chrome browser by next year 2024.
This will impact your data collection. Therefore 1st party data collection will become ever more important when you use audiences to (re-)target customers, and measure conversions and attribution. Moreover, Google will use more AI/ML modeling to still get you the insights for your business. The model itself will work better when provided with quality, accurate 1st party data: garbage in = garbage out.
You will get a fully functional Server-side tracking(=sGTM) setup that will collect that quality 1st party data needed to provide meaningful insights to drive your business in the future when 3rd party cookies will be deprecated.

Yes and no, the server side container runs on the Google Cloud Platform. To activate it, it's mandatory to apply via a credit card. If you don't go over the free tier usage, no cost will be incurred. Just stay below 10GB of usage and it's free!
