FAQ
My vault is already a mess. Can you fix it without losing notes?
Yes. I back up a copy of your vault first, then reorganize folders, tags, links and templates around how you work. Your original notes stay intact, and you get a short guide so the structure stays clean.
Can you move my notes from Notion, Evernote or OneNote into Obsidian?
Yes. I migrate your notes, links and tags into clean Markdown. Notion databases don’t transfer one to one, so I rebuild them with Dataview views. For big workspaces, I migrate one project at a time.
My Obsidian sync keeps breaking or making conflicted copies. Can you fix it?
Yes. The usual cause is two sync tools running on one vault (Obsidian Sync plus iCloud or Dropbox). I pick one reliable method, clean up conflicts, and set it up across your devices.
Do I need to pay for Obsidian Sync, or are there free options?
Not necessarily. Obsidian Sync is the easiest, but free options like Git or Syncthing work well too. I’ll recommend the best fit for your devices and budget, then configure it. Sync isn’t a backup, so I add one.
Will you set up a backup so I never lose my vault?
Yes. Syncing copies mistakes to every device, so it isn’t a backup. I set up automatic versioned backups (such as Git or cloud copies) and show you how to restore a file if something goes wrong.
I installed too many plugins and things feel slow or buggy. Can you help?
Yes. Plugin conflicts are a common cause of glitches. I audit what you have, remove what you don’t use, and keep a small, stable set of core and community plugins that fit your workflow.
What is Dataview, and do I actually need a dashboard?
Dataview turns your notes into live tables and lists, like open tasks or recent projects. It’s great once you have a steady note flow. I’ll tell you honestly if you’d do better with a simpler setup first.
Can you connect Claude or another AI agent to my vault with MCP?
Yes. I set up an MCP server so Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor can read, search and write to your vault. I also add a CLAUDE.md file so the AI understands your structure.
Is it safe to give an AI agent access to my notes?
I set it up carefully. An MCP server can expose your whole vault, so I can use read-only access, limit it to certain folders, or keep private notes in a separate vault. You decide what the AI can see.
Will I be able to maintain everything myself after delivery?
Yes. That’s the goal. Every setup includes a clear guide on adding notes, using templates and running your dashboards. If something breaks within the revision window, message me and I wll help.
